One of the most reliable transformers on the market today is the oil filled transformer. They are normally more efficient than dry-types and usually have a longer life expectancy. Also, Oil is a more efficient cooling medium in reducing hot spot temperatures in the coils. In addition, Oil-filled units have a better overload capability.
